Wow! Those are big birds! Very pretty colors against that green, green grass. What type of birds are these?

One red winged black bird and the rest are house finches. I was kind of disappointed by the lack of variety. But it was fun trying to take the pictures.

It's neat to see the progression of the seed level in the feeder. I'm curious how much time had passed between pics #4 and #3 (if they were even taken on the same day). How fast do the birds chow down?

Also, I think the red winged blackbird is really cool looking.

There are two of the same feeders right next to each other. I filled them both sometime in the morning (8ish?) and by that evening they were both pretty empty. So super, shockingly, intake of breath, desperately attempting to calculate how much it's going cost to keep these birds coming back, fast.

What a fine selection of birds. The exposures have a nice crisp quality to them. The black bird, though, needs to go on a diet.
